I held a small crusade for one of our Bible school students, Pastor John Chisha in early 1998. He had pioneered a new work a year and a half before and it was now 150 in attendance. The crusade was held outside his church with between 500 and 600 people attending.
On Saturday evening, a young man came who had been shot in the arm four times with an automatic A K 47 rifle. This particular rifle leaves very bad wounds as the bullets spin upon impact and rip up the muscle and flesh. In addition to the wounds, the arm was also broken in several places. The overall damage to the arm was so severe the doctors wanted to amputate, but the man refused. Due to the broken bones, he had a cast on but it was strange. The cast had holes in various places to allow the wounds to heal where the flesh and muscle was literally scooped out.
As he stood in front of me and I heard the story, God dropped the gift of faith in me for that miracle. We declared before the people what God could do. The man believed what he had heard about Jesus and we prayed together. The power of God hit him and he began moving his hand, which he hadn’t moved in ten weeks, and the flesh was immediately restored. Glory to God! The crowd began to praise God with the young man.
As a result of that one miracle on Saturday evening, God began to throw out the net of redemption and 27 adults attended the church the next morning. They wanted to be a part of a church that believed in the power of God. It included that young man, who became a faithful member of Pastor Chisha’s church. Praise the Lord!
